A. Stand with your feet parallel to the end of your mat in the middle. Start in Tadasana (Mountain Pose) standing straight and tall with feet together, hands on your hips. Take a breath in and jump your legs apart a wide distance, a leg length and slightly more. For most, the leg distance should be as wide as possible keeping the feet parallel. Keep the feet parallel and rooted into the earth. Raise your toes and reach forward with them. Make sure your arches of the feet are not collapsed. Activate your quadriceps muscles pulling them up towards the pelvis and in towards the bone. Roll the metatarsal bones in your feet to the outside. Keep all of this work in the active legs and feet throughout the pose.
B. Abdomen, lower back, quadriceps, hamstrings, adductor muscles, abdominal muscles.

It strengthens and stretches the inner and back legs, as well as the spine. It tones the abdominal organs, calms the brain, relieved mild backache. Therapeutic applications of this asana include headache, fatigue, and mild depression.
7. In this pose, one feels very calm. The calming effect comes from being upside down in the pose. While the head is resting on the floor in the full posture, the rush of blood to the brain makes you feel refreshed and renewed. When you stretch with your breath, you feel the oxygen flowing in the through my head and brain and it's very invigorating. You can also feel the stretch in your back as you lean forward to lead with your heart center. You can feel all your muscles opening up and you feel improve circulation throughout the entire body
